Early Life and Education

Ernesto "Che" Guevara was born in Rosario, Argentina, on June 14, 1928. His father was an architect and his mother was a well-educated woman from a wealthy family. Guevara had aprivileged upbringing, but he was also exposed to the poverty and injustice that plagued much of Latin America. He began to develop a keen interest in social and political issues at an early age.

Guevara studied medicine at the University of Buenos Aires. During his time in medical school, he traveled extensively throughout Latin America, witnessing the hardships faced by the poor and disenfranchised. These experiences had a profound impact on him, and he became increasingly critical of the existing social order.

Revolutionary Career

After graduating from medical school, Guevara joined Fidel Castro's revolutionary movement in Cuba. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of Castro's most trusted commanders. Guevara played a key role in the Cuban Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the Batista dictatorship in 1959.

After the Cuban Revolution, Guevara served in various government positions, including Minister of Industry and Minister of National Bank. He also played a leading role in promoting the Cuban Revolution throughout the world. In 1965, he left Cuba to join guerrilla movements in Bolivia, where he was killed by the Bolivian army in 1967.
