Boeing and NASA Collaborate on Crew Space Transportation System
CST-100 Starliner Spacecraft Unveiled
360-Degree Camera Installed for Astronaut Exploration
The Boeing-developed CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, a centerpiece of NASA's Crew Space Transportation (CST) system, has been equipped with a 360-degree camera to enhance astronaut exploration and research.
NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore, Suni Williams, and Mike Massimino recently participated in a systems test at Boeing's Spacecraft Fabrication and Integration Facility in Florida, providing valuable feedback on the spacecraft's design and functionality.
The immersive 360-degree camera will provide astronauts with a comprehensive view of their surroundings inside the Starliner, allowing them to monitor equipment, conduct experiments, and maintain situational awareness during missions to the International Space Station and beyond.
Boeing and NASA are working closely to prepare the Starliner for its first crewed flight test, scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
